Whilst I have had these wood species on sale a couple of years back, all I had was salvaged from an old stump from a Lucerne tree once living on a neighbours front yard. The tree had been cut many years prior but a long stump (about 4' long) was left as some sort of post. The house was sold and the new owner didn't wanted that stump in the yard so I removed it and used it for all my pen blanks and some small bowl blanks that I've made at the time out of it.
The wood sold fast, and I removed the eBay listing, keeping only a small amount for the Mix packs, which requires 1 (one) blank from each of my available species.
Lucerne trees in a small stage are great food for cattle, the small tree/bush/shrubs regrow every years for a number of years, only requiring the cattle to be moved away, when they have eaten most of the new shoots.
Rarely these trees are left to grow big as their life expectancy is relatively low of 15 years if you're lucky, even though, there are a few growing around town. This tree, the one these new blanks have come from, has a very interesting story and you can see it in here
This wood is just amazing stuff and very different than most woods you have worked with, if is one characteristics that you will never forget, is the smell is produces. I can't say that this is a bad thing, nor I can tell if you will like it but, is something that I don't mind at all and that you will be able to recognise in the future, as a unique property of this wood...!
The tree had dead wood and live wood, even though it was unable to survive any longer so, and depending of where in the tree I cut the wood from, some logs are dry, some are not...!
All blanks are waxed for protection and colours enhancement and, unless otherwise stated that the wood is green, all blanks presented/listed are ready to be worked on...!
