These are the first time knife scales of this wood species that have been listed on my web-store, there is a very low stock of these so grab some while you can...!

This wood was processed from some trees that we cut in late 2013.  They were part of a large fruit tree area, planted a long time ago, next to a brick house the owner built in the 1970's.  There was a good variety of fruit trees but, most have passed the life expectancy and capabilities to produce much fruit if any.  The whole yard/area became contaminated with white termites and many other wood-eating creatures, most of the wood becomes old and soft, therefore, easy for the creatures to eat away.

This particular tree was planted next to a shed that, years later become a cabinet maker's workshop and its proximity to the walls and roof, started to damage the shed.  The original trunk was long gone but, a large number of shoots have developed some years back and the whole thing was huge, as each of the 9 shoots become 8" to 12" trunks, all producing useless fruit.

There was also termite activity but, not yet serious enough to kill all those trunks, some would always die before others.

All these shoots started growing from what once was the original tree's main fork/crotch so, above ground about 3' and while the wood from all the new trunks was, fairly new wood, from the junction of the new shoots below it, that wood was much older and therefore with much darker colourations and grains, this is from where these listed blanks come from...!

There was another smaller Cherry Plum tree that I processed years ago but that wood, is all gone and this one, is now replacing the old stock...!

Blanks are dry and ready to go, each blank was waxed at one face for colour enhancement, only...!

Thank you for visiting...!
